Cypriot Granny Gets Law Degree at 72!

imagesIt took a while but Christothea Pelekanou, 72, realized her life-long dream of life to get her law degree. Now she will continue to post graduate studies at the University of Nicosia which she considers her second home in pursuit of being a lawyer.
Pelekanou had started to study Law in United Kingdom 50 years ago but quit to get married and make a family. She thought it would be best to support her husband who, thanks to her help, became a director of Social Security and retired as Director General of the Ministry of Justice.
Pelekanou started her studies at the University of Nicosia four years ago and was graduated as an exemplary student. Apart from the post-graduate studies she wants be admitted to the Law Clinic of the same university which offers free legal advices to individuals or organizations who lack the necessary financial resources.
