Racist Assault Against Elderly Woman

LLLL_349_355An elderly woman from the former Soviet Union, was sitting on a little chair on the pavement outside the Theageneio Anti-Cancer Hospital in Thessaloniki, where her husband is hospitalized with cancer. She was selling bread rolls to make ends meet.
According to Greek media reports, one morning a young strongly-built man from the taxi-stand nearby approached her. The woman saw him kick the bread rolls stand, knock it over and throw the bread rolls on the pavement.
He told her in a threatening voice: “You will not sell bread rolls here. Take them and go, I don’t want to see you here again. I will send a Greek to sell bread rolls.” The man returned to the taxi-stand, sat at the taxi driver’s seat and left.
The Taxi Owners Association in Thessaloniki examined the incident reported by the frightened woman, but the investigation conducted did not bring any results, because none of the drivers at the taxi-stand had seen anything.
Professional drivers of Thessaloniki said that this is because there are nationalist taxi drivers, members of the neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn, who have recently dynamically entered the domain.
