According to a One Poll survey realized for the international travel organization Thomas Cook, it was revealed that Greece ranks among the top travel destinations for family vacations, winning the 3rd place worldwide, but losing out to neighbor Turkey which was ranked number one in the world.
Among others, the survey showed that 50% of the parents choose their annual holiday based solely on their children likes and preferences.
Moreover, a good 50% said that spending time with family is the most important, while 1 out of 4 admitted that they would appreciate just a little time away from their children during the holidays.
Of particular interest is the overwhelming proportion of 89% out of thousands of children, aged 4-16, who said they want to spend some or all of their holiday time with their mom and dad.
Indeed, 60% said that the ideal dream vacation includes unlimited access to the water parks with only 22% saying that they actually choose gadgets and computer games over family holidays.
In fact, less than 10% of the children asked, said they had been missing their computers and computer games, something that as well proves the value of quality time they prefer to spend with their family.
The top five family destinations for holidays are:
1. Turkey
2. Balearic Islands, Spain
3. Greece
4. Tunisia
5. Canary Islands
