Peace Boat of Japan in Limassol

9EDA5980099115F8B31324914CF66BE9Τhe Japanese Peace Boat is expected to sail into the port of Limassol on August 15. The peace boat had sailed on July 18 from Yokohama for a 85 day-trip around the earth to pass the message of a world free of nuclear weapons.
Among  the passengers there are survivors of the nuclear holocaust of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The Deputy Secretary General of the Cyprus Green Party, Adonis Yiangou, who met in Limassol with the representative of the Peace Boat Mai Watanabe and SYRIZA’s representative for international relations Panos Trigazis, described the visit of as an act of solidarity with the Cypriot people and their struggles.
Japanese officials talked to interlocutors on the position of the Green Party regarding the  de-nuclearization of the Mediterranean and the campaign against the construction of the nuclear power plant in Akkuyu, Turkey.
After Cyprus, the Peace Boat will travel to Turkey, Malta, Italy, France, Spain, Morocco, Caribbean and Latin America and then return to Yokohama.
