Athens Digital Film Festival Coming in September

festivalA number of more than 200 short films, Greek and foreign, a contest, tributes to Greek directors, parallel programs and art exhibitions about digital image, will be included in the 3rd Athens International Digital Film Festival (AIDFF), which will begin on September 1.
For 10 days, the AIDFF will be spread in various parts of the city, such as the Cacoyannis Foundation, The City of Athens Cultural Center, Beton7, Art Space Asomaton.
A number of 120 short films, 80 of which are Greek, will participate in the Animation Competition, International Competition Fiction, Greek Competition Documentary, Experimental, International Competition Documentary, Greek Competition Fiction, Student Competition, Information, Video Art Competition.
In a parallel program and for the first time in AIDFF, in collaboration with the Finnish festival Wildlife Vaasa, scientific films on ecological and environmental topics will be projected.
In the context of the 3rd Digital Film Festival Tributes, the late great Greek theater director and actor Lefteris Vogiatzis will be honored with the film Acropole by Pantelis Voulgaris, director Lucia Rikaki and the Experimental Film of Thanasis Rentzis.
A new program, entitled Acquaintance with short films of known directors, with films by Dimitris Athanitis, Giannis Maroudas and Michalis Galanakis, as well as the new art movement named Visual Journeys, with a group exhibition and a tribute to the work of the painter Eleni Botsiou, will be inaugurated.
AIDFF is held with the support of the Youth and Sports Organization (ONA) of the Municipality of Athens.
