Greece’s Health Ministry reportedly is looking for doctors who want to take island vacations and will put them up with free accommodations if they work for free in small health units, centers and clinics.
The idea was revealed by the Association of Resident Doctors of Evaggelismos Hospital who said that the offer is designed to bring medical care to islands as the government cuts back on health care during a crushing economic crisis.
It comes as many doctors have already fled Greece to find work and a new life because of constant cutbacks in pay and supplies.
