A 53-year-old man, a Turkish national, who was sought for by the authorities with an arrest warrant, concerning the case of a speedboat that was carrying an arsenal of weapons, appeared at the Counter-Terrorism Police Unit on Aug. 26 and was arrested.
According to information, he is the owner of a grill house in Agios Dimitrios and allegedly gave the speedboat to the 51-year-old Greek man who was arrested with the arsenal.
The speedboat has been seized by the Port Authority when it was sailing between Chios and Inousses.The police investigation has so far suggested that the DHKP-C or PKK militant groups based in Turkey might be involved in the case.
