No Concern over Crete,Thessaloniki Tremors

newego_LARGE_t_1101_53839809On September 9 seismologists assured that there was no need for concern after the four tremors recorded in Thessaloniki in northern Greece and off the coast of Crete in the southern Aegean during the past two days, according to Greek media reports.
Today, a small earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale struck 30 kilometers northwest of Thessaloniki at 5.17 a.m., at the same epicenter  the other minor tremor of 3.5 Richter hit on September 8 at 1.33 p.m.
On Monday morning, off the coast of Crete, another 3-Richter quake came after a moderate 5-Richter temblor on Sunday.
The epicenter for both tremors was off the southern coast of the island’s Tymbaki coastal village. Seismologists have been monitoring the seismic activity.
