Police investigation has concluded that a 35-year-old man is the perpetrator of the hideous crime that was committed in Rafina, Attica, three weeks ago.
An elderly woman, aged between 60-70, was murdered with a kitchen knife and then cup up into pieces before the killer threw her dismembered body in a recycling bin. The first to see the hideous spectacle were two children aged about 12 on the afternoon of August 23.
According to the investigation, the 35-year-old was the woman’s grandson who was motivated by financial and family disputes, confirming the police’s first assessment that the killer was possibly someone close to the victim.
According to Greek media reports, the man confessed that his grandmother was accidentally stabbed during their argument, so he decided to dismember her body to dispose of it more easily. The initial investigation did not reveal that the 35-year-old faced psychological problems.
The police managed to solve the crime mystery and even released a sketch of the victim.
