Athens World Poetry Festival
A number of 69 poets will participate in 22 different events that will take place in the region of Athens as part of the first international Athens World Poetry Festival.

The Festival will commence on Sept. 23 till 29,  in cooperation with the Municipality of Athens, the Athens Opera House, the Benaki Museum and other cultural associations and bodies.
The Festival will take place at the same time at several venues throughout Athens, such as Piraeus, Kesariani, Nea Ionia, Nea Smyrni, Imitos and at the Delphi and will be organized by the Poets Circle, an initiative founded two years ago. The aim of the festival is to highlight “a common field of sensitivity in Europe, Asia, Africa, and America.”
Sixty-nine internationally renowned poets from 22 countries will participate in a festival that emphasizes on the importance of poetry in difficult times.
