The regional secondary school teachers’ unions (ELME), during their presidents’ meeting, did not vote for the five-day rolling strikes to continue.
The meeting started at 11a.m. on September 20 and went on till 2 a.m. the next day.
The presidents of the local ELME did not vote by qualified majority the proposal for a new five-day strike, neither for a new proposal put forward for a three-day strike, which did not collect the necessary number of votes. Finally, a new 48-hour strike was decided for September 23 and 24.
