Investigation on Lagarde List Continues

listThe finance minister Yannis Stournaras, has denied the rumors that the investigations into the Lagarde list are being shelved. The finance ministry insists that the Financial and Economic Crime Unit (S.D.O.E) will remain mostly responsible for the investigation for another two years.
Under the terms of the law, the investigation of the Lagarde list, and other similar lists, is extended for another two years. The State will investigate the data which the foreign governments gave to our government. The statement of the ministry said: “The checks ordered by prosecutors are carried out solely by the agency that received the order. The Lagarde list belongs to this category.”
On Monday, the ex President of the Hellenic Parliament Mr. Apostolos Kaklamanakis asked the Minister of finance, Yannis Stournaras about the progress of the investigation. Apostolos Kaklamanakis noted that the Greek State should use the lists for tax-collection purposes.
