Samaras Meets with Chairman of ZTE

ZTEAntonis Samaras held a meeting with ZTE’s chairman Hou Weigui on Oct 10th at Maximos Mansion, the official seat of the Prime Minister of Greece, which is located in downtown Athens, Greece, near Syntagma Square.
The chairman of the Chinese multinational telecommunications equipment and systems company stated that after the opening of a transit center in Piraeus for Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment Corporation (ZTE)’s products, the Chinese company now opens a service center in Greece, too.
“We believe that ZTE in Greece will help the country’s economy and it will offer 400 to 600 new workplaces,” stated Hou Weigui, adding that the company’s effort is also supported by the Greek government.
Minister of Development, Competitiveness, Infrastructure, Transport and Networks Kostis Chatzidakis, after stressing that ZTE is one of the five largest telecom providers worldwide, mentioned that this agreement reflects confidence in Greece, in terms of reliability and also for investments.
Chatzidakis underlined: “The sacrifices of the Greek people bear fruit. We try for more good news to follow and the prime minister is leading this effort”.
“The image of Greece in the world is changing for the better. The country enters again in the map of big investments,” stated the deputy minister of Development Notis Mitarakis.
