One Injured During Altercation at Athens Club

hooligan clashA bloody altercation occurred today, Sunday the 13th of October, at 6:10 in the morning outside the club “Sideradiko”, in the region Pangrati, Athens.
According to police sources, a group of 7-8 Panathinaikos fans left from Zografou, a suburb of Athens, and went to the club looking for fans of Olympiacos.
The employees of the club pulled them out and during the altercation, one of them pulled a Tokarev 7.65 mm pistol and shot the 23-year old doorman in the abdomen. The doorman was transferred to the George Gennimatas General State Hospital of Athens and his condition is serious.
The pistol was found outside the club and transferred to the forensic laboratories.
An identity of a sports club member was also found at the point.  The department of prosecution of crimes against life in cooperation with the department for violence in sports are in charge of the case.
Police forces rushed to the scene where 10 suspects were caught, and are being examined at the police quarters of Attica, while, according to media sources, a man from Albania is considered to be a suspect.
After this bloody incident between sports fanatics, a new series of police operations is expected to take place.
Last week the police investigated three clubs in the regions Perama, Cholargos and Elefsina. The individual responsible of the club in Perama was arrested for possession of a smoke grenade.
