PASOK and New Democracy Debt to IKA

ikaExtensive controls take place in the public and private sector as well as in the political parties of Greece in order to reveal the debts on social security contributions.
According to these controls, the two most popular political parties of Greece, PASOK and New Democracy, owed a total of 365,000 Euros in social security contributions. According to the document of Yannis Vroutsis the unpaid contributions in June showed that New Democracy owed 256,000 Euros and PASOK more than 109,000 Euros.
Almost a year ago, the then Minister of Interior- Tasos Giannitsis, mentioned that a great number of the employees on IKA are unpaid for months, as well as some rents. He called the two parties to pay their debts especially on IKA, the main social security fund in Greece, which has a lot of economic problems due to the revenue drop by around a quarter since 2009.
