Greece Beat Liechtenstein 2-0 but 2014 World Cup Future Unknown

Greece World Cup 2014
Despite a 2-0 victory to Liechtenstein on Tuesday, Greece had to settle for a place in the World Cup qualifying play-offs as their bid to overhaul Bosnia-Herzegovina at the top of Group G ended in disappointment.
Greece took a comfortable win thanks to two goals by Dimitris Salpingidis and Giorgos Karagounis, however that wasn’t enough in order for the Greek team to get a place for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
“Bosnia is a worthy team. They fought hard and they made it. I congratulate them,” Greece coach Fernando Santos said.
“We’d always hoped for direct qualification. We’ve been racing the Bosnians and in the end it was them who got it. We are disappointed tonight, but that’ll be behind us tomorrow.”
Bosnia and Greece both finished the group qualification matches with 25 points from 10 matches — eight wins, one loss and a draw.
Greece will now have to participate in the World Cup play-offs.
The draw for the playoffs, which will take place over two legs on November 15 and 19, will be held in Zurich on October 21.
