Zakynthos’ Navagio Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches around the world, but the spot is also one of the favorite Base Jump spots on the planet.
The beach is is an exposed cove, often referred to as ‘Smugglers Cove’, on the coast of Zakynthos Island Greece. The wreck which which still remains at the beach is the alleged smuggler ship Panagiotis.
BASE jumping, is an activity where participants jump from fixed objects and use a parachute to break their fall. “BASE” is an acronym that stands for four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump: Building, Antenna, Span, and Earth (cliff).
BASE jumping grew out of skydiving but BASE jumps are generally made from much lower altitudes than skydives, and a BASE jump takes place close to the object serving as the jump platform.

Do not try it at home: This dangerous sport has as of 2002 has an overall fatality rate estimated at about one fatality per sixty participants according to British Journal of Sports Medicine. Do not attempt this unless with an expert.
