Works of Art in the National Garden

National-Garden-of-AthensGeorge Kaminis and the representatives of the Agency of Culture and Development, presented the changes that will take place in the National Garden, the most important of which is the exhibition of contemporary works of art.
Every two months for the next two years, the garden will be converting into an open gallery. It will also be reformed with 24 new trees and 7,068 new plants compatible with the structure and the character of the botanical garden.
The objective of the program “Discovering the National Garden” is to bring the citizens and the visitors of Athens, in touch with contemporary art and turn the garden into a meeting point where the Athenians can relax.
The study was completed by the internationally acclaimed French landscape architect, Louis Benech, in collaboration with the Greek office doxiadis +.
The first exhibition of contemporary art will be held in May-June 2014, under the supervision of Iwona Blazwick OBE, director of the Whitechapel Gallery, in London.
