Suspension Threat for Civil Servants

15577287_17_38033357.limghandlerThe developments concerning the mobility scheme, and mainly the suspensions of Municipalities civil servants are expected to evolve rapidly.

As the Alternative Minister of Interior, Leonidas Grigorakos made clear in an interview he gave to Greek TV channel SKAI–only those who work in OTA’s main body are not threatened with suspension. All the other civil servants of Municipalities are not only threatened by entering the availability scheme, but are also threatened with suspension.
Concerning those who work in OTA’s main body, Mr. Grigorakos mentioned that they have nothing to fear for as long as the mobility scheme measure applied in municipalities is fruitful.
On the contrary he underlined, those who work for OTA’s Private-Law Bodies or Public-Law Bodies, as well as  those who work at OTA’s Société Anonyme are facing suspension.
As far as the evaluation process is concerned, Mr. Grigorakos underlined the necessity to begin immediately, in order for the process to be completed by the end of the year. All these changes will result in a more effective State mechanism, as today’s situation is unacceptable and must be altered rapidly.
These statements were made by the Alternative Minister of Interior, just a few hours before Greek Administrative Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis meets with Troika. Troika is expected to ask for an immediate application of the availability measure and for new civil servants suspensions.
