Lakis Gavalas' Trial Postponed

Lakis Gavalas’ trial has been postponed for the 27th of October 2014. He was arrested again on Wednesday, for the sixth time, for debts to the State, this time amounting to 712,000 euros.
The renowned designer has already been in custody twice – a total of 15 months – and has been convicted to seven years imprisonment with parole. He also has another conviction of five years in prison for a misdemeanor. His total debt exceeds 17 million euros. However, according to the designer, an appeal to the administrative courts have been made, in order to dispute the debt.
Lakis Gavalas went to the police headquarters (GADA) by himself with his lawyer, when he was told that there was a warrant for his arrest for debts to the State.
It should be noted that he has already offered his property in Kantza, Greece, with a value estimated at 33.7 million euros in order to repay his debts.
