Greek High-Tech Exports Worth Over 1 Billion Euros Per Year

technologyThe conference “Made in Greece” covered all aspects of business activities from industrial manufacturing, to software development and research. In particular, the Greek innovative technology had a special presence at the first conference of exports and five companies of high technology presented their activities and impressive business achievements as well.
According to the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Greece exports high technology products worth over 1 billion euros per year. This amount exceeds twice the income that comes from extra virgin olive oil, which is a traditional product.
Moreover, there are Greek companies and researchers internationally distinguished in the applications of mobile digital communications, in bio-medical technology, in microelectronics and aerospace. These Greek innovative companies are: the Association of Mobile Application Companies (HAMAC), the Startup Association (iEENE), the Association of Space Technology Industries and HBio specialized in Biotechnology.
The General Director of HAMAC, Mr. Yannis Kotsis-Giannarakis underlined that the major purpose is to expand these companies to international markets, facilitating the access to risk capital and implement the cooperation between the research and academic community. The aim is also to develop business relations with other economic key factors where the use of technology can provide multiple benefits.
Generally, an innovative entrepreneurship is spreading across Greece, covering the high technology sector and traditional industries as well.
