An investigation was ordered by the Prosecutor, Eleni Raikou, after accusations of fraud and embezzlement was made public by the regional councilor, Nikos Galanos, in association with the call for investments by the privatization fund TAIPED in the luxurious hotel  “Asteras” — situated in Vouliagmeni, Athens.
Nikos Galanos, during a meeting with the Prosecutor of Financial Crimes, Yiannis Dragatsis, claimed that the investment procedure that was followed by TAIPED will cost the Greek State millions of euros.
The investment proclamation refers to 8,600 square meters being available for someone to invest in, while the Regional Council’s environmental report noted that there are 39,000 square meters. Meanwhile, representatives of the Greek National Bank and TAIPED will meet later on with Mr. Dragatsis in order for the Prosecutor of Financial Crimes to investigate the judicial aspects of the case.
