Greek Households' Available Income Down 8% in Q3 2013‏

Greek householdsGreek households’ and non-profit institutions’ (offering services to households) available income fell by 8 percent in the third quarter of 2013, compared with the same period in 2012, to 30.4 billion euros, reflecting a 9.9 percent decline in workers’ income and an 8.2 percent fall in social benefits to households, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Monday.
In a report, the statistics service said that final consumption spending of Greek households and NPIs fell by 10.2 percent in the July-September period in 2013 to 32.4 billion euros, from 36.1 billion euros in the same period in 2012.
Greece’s households’ and NPIs’ savings rate (gross savings per gross available income) was -6.7 percent in the third quarter of 2013, down from -9.3 percent in the third quarter of 2012.
