New Earthquake Strikes Cephalonia

kefalonia-zimies-660_2The island Cephalonia, Greece, was hit by another earthquake a few hours ago. The earthquake was recorded at 14:49 and measured 4.7 on the Richter scale, according to the Institute of Geodynamics in Athens. The locals have learned to live with the fear of earthquakes as the island has been hit by several over the past months.
The earthquake’s depth was located 20 km away from Lixouri and 24 km from Argostoli.  Today, local people were once again panicked by the quake and fled from their houses.
However, Greek seismologists reassured that they strongly believe this quake was expected, as the aftershock seismic activity following recent quakes on the island has not yet come to an end.
