Greece Sends 'Rise Up' to Eurovision Song Contest 2014

Greece sends Rise Up to Eurovision Song Contest 2014
Greece has made a decision on who will represent the country in Eurovision 2014. The winning song of the televised Greek show is “Rise Up” by Freaky Fortune feat. Riskykidd. The young act who is well on their way to Copenhagen to represent Greece will spend the next two months preparing for the second semi final of the 59th Eurovision Song Contest.
The Greek live show included performances with dancers in kilts and Greek Eurovision legends like Kalomira while the winner was determined by a 50/50 vote mix of Jury and Televoting. The Greek Eurosong 2014 members were; Dimitris Kontopoulos, Elpida, Themis Georgantas, Areti Kalesaki and Reggina Kouri.
The four acts that performed on March 11th at the Acro Music Hall in Athens and their songs are listed below:

  • Petalouda Stin Athina by Crystallia (Music by Nikos Antypas. Lyrics by Aris Davarakis)
  • (Winner) Rise Up by Freaky Fortune featuring Risky Kidd (Music by Freaky Fortune. Lyrics: Freaky Fortune and Risky Kidd)
  • Kanenas De Me Stamata by Kostas Martakis (Music and lyrics: Ilias Kozas)
  • Dancing Night by Mark Angelo featuring Josephine (Music and lyrics by Mark Angelo, Josephine Wendel, Fast Lane, Melina Makris and Thomas Karlsson)

Semi-Finals of the 59th Eurovision Song Contest are set to take place on Tuesday May 6 and Thursday May 8, the Final is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2014. Some 170 million people from over 40 countries are expected to tune in for the upcoming contest.
