4.1 Richter Earthquake in Pyrgos, Greece

An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 on the Richter scale shook the city of Pyrgos, Greece.
According to the Greek Institute of Geodynamics in Athens, the earthquake epicenter was located 6 km northwest of Pyrgos.
A lighter quake was recorded thirteen minutes after the first earthquake.
The quake was felt throughout the region of Ilia, in several regions of Peloponnese, as well as on the Ionian islands, causing locals to panic and head to open areas and squares for safety.
According to seismologists, there is no reason for worry. Until now no damages have been reported.
