Huffington Post Praises Greek Island of Rhodes

rhodes-townParis, London, Rome and Venice are some of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations, but there are also some lesser-known spots that are just as beautiful, such as the island of Rhodes, in Greece’s eastern Aegean Sea.
The Huffington Post published an article on Tuesday presenting the most “overlooked European cities you must visit in your lifetime”. The list includes the Greek island of Rhodes, which according to the article, is surrounded by “the bluest waters you probably will ever see”.
Praising the capital of the “island of the knights” the article’s review of the island focuses on the Old Town of Rhodes, the oldest inhabited medieval town in Europe, with its ancient streets, Roman ruins, medieval castles and Byzantine mosque.
The New Town of Rhodes, with its modern boutiques, bistros, bars and “awesome” beach, also gets a healthy and much-needed dose of free advertising from the HuffPost, ahead of the opening of the summer tourist season.
The other cities included in the list are: Cork (Ireland), Lyon (France), Helsinki (Finland), Budapest (Hungary), Freiburg (Germany), Gothenburg (Sweden), Porto (Portugal), Granada (Spain), Maastricht (Netherlands), Ghent (Belgium), Bucharest (Romania), Innsbruck (Austria), Genoa (Italy), Bratislava (Slovakia), Odense (Denmark), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Basel (Switzerland), Manchester (UK), Split (Croatia), Brno (Czech Republic), Toruń (Poland) and Bergen (Norway).
