Influenza Death Toll in Greece Hits 110

flu virus

The deadly onslaught of the flu continues. According to KEELPNO’s (Hellenic Centre for Disease Control and Prevention) data, the flu had claimed 110 victims by noon on Monday, with another 46 patients across Greece in intensive care suffering severe complications from the virus.
Experts say the country is in the final phase of the H1N1 influenza epidemic and estimate that the virus will stop spreading within the next two or three weeks.
But already, this year’s influenza outbreak in Greece has been more than twice as deadly as last year’s, which claimed 49 victims.
