Greece is the latest country targeted by Google in its effort to penalize networks of ‘spam’ links, the company’s head of search spam Matt Cutts revealed this week.
The suspicious link networks were believed to have been formed by several search-engine optimization (SEO) agencies on behalf of their clients. However, it is not known which agency is behind the penalized link networks in Greece.
Google has been advising webmasters, especially those with websites which are potential targets, to proactively clean up their link profile to avoid being penalized by Google.
