A series of Greek Unions, the Civil Servants’ Confederation (ADEDI), the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association (PFS), the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), the Athens Labour Centre (EKA) and the Pharmaceutical Association of Attica, announced a general strike on Wednesday, April 8 as well as demonstrations on March 30 and April 1. In Particular, today’s meeting for coordination, participation and preparation of actions for the following two weeks, the unions decided to:
- Organize a protest rally outside Greece’s Parliament on Sunday, March 30, the day of voting for the new measures agreed between the troika and the Greek coalition government, demanding their withdrawal.
- Organize a Complaint Demonstration on the EU policy on Tuesday, April 1, at Klafthmonos square, a day on which ECOFIN’s meeting will take place and decisions are expected to take a turn for the worst for worker’s rights.
- Organize a general strike on Wednesday, April 9.
