Guardian: Samaras Will Lose Votes After Baltakos Scandal

samarasThe British newspaper “The Guardian” published an article entitled “Greek prime minister facing resignation calls after aide’s Golden Dawn gaffe,” which went on to explain the repercussions of the Baltakos scandal.
The article, written by the newspaper’s correspondent in Athens, Helena Smith, talks about a new political crisis that Antonis Samaras is faced with, while mentioning that Takis Baltakos was “Samaras’ most trusted adviser.”
The Greek prime minister is facing mounting calls from across the political spectrum for the government to step down,” read the Guardian article, while focusing on the statement of Alexis Tsipras, head of the opposition, “The Samaras government has proved to be dangerous; it cannot continue handling the country’s fate.”
After recounting the recent events involving the Baltakos case the British newspaper commented: “with only weeks before European and local elections – and Samaras’ parliamentary majority whittled down to one following an exodus of support over unpopular budget reforms – many predict a loss of votes for his fragile two-party coalition.”
Furthermore, the article mentions PASOK’s announcements which stated that anyone who has ties “with neo-Nazis, racists and the extreme right should be revealed and punished.”
