Baltakos: I Am Part of New Democracy and Always Will Be

baltakosFormer cabinet secretary Takis Baltakos told Greek reporters that he was, is and always will be part of New Democracy as he left the prosecutor’s office Monday, after delivering testimony about the controversial video that cost him his job in which he was seen in discussion with Golden Dawn MP, Ilias Kasidiaris who released the footage.
Baltakos testified that he thought that in this way he was offering his services to the government, adding that he had stopped talking with the fascist group, especially after Pavlos Fyssas’ murder.
Furthermore, he reportedly revealed to the prosecutor that he suspected that Ilias Kasidiaris was filming him and he was the one who asked Kasidiaris to see him. Baltakos also added that the discussion was held with open doors so anyone could have been present.
In addition, he reiterated that it was his personal choice to meet with Golden Dawn MPs, and that he hadn’t informed anyone of his decision to do so, adding that a few days after the conversation he invited some of the Golden Dawn MPs to explain that there are no conspiracies against them.
As Baltakos reportedly testified to the prosecutor, Kasidiaris and Panagiotaros were present at the meeting, where he attempted to explain to them that Fyssas’ murder was enough to destroy Golden Dawn.
Moreover, Baltakos does not appear to have any hard feelings for Antonis Samaras, saying that he took risks and had no reason to bring the prime minister into them.
Speaking with reporters, Takis Baltakos referred to the incident involving his son, saying that his son is not a brat that sits around all day drinking coffee and watching serials.
