Where Do Greece's Leaders Go for Easter?

Greek leadersEaster holidays are the perfect opportunity for the political leadership of Greece to get some rest and regather their strength before the local election on May 18 and 25 and the European elections on May 22-25.
Greece’s President Karolos Papoulias is spending almost a week at his home village of Fragades in Ioannina, northwestern Greece, while Prime Minister Antonis Samaras will celebrate Easter in Costa Navarino, in the southern Greek region of Pylos. He may also visit Nafplio, his wife’s birthplace.
Opposition leader Alexis Tsipras will spend the holidays on the island of Crete with his wife and two children. Tsipras is expected to visit Rethimno, Sitia and Ierapetra, in Chania, where he will deliver a speech.
Evangelos Venizelos, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will celebrate Easter in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, where he will stay until early next week. 
Panos Kammenos, president of Independent Greeks will spend the vacation on the island of Ikaria, where his wife was born. Finally, Communist Party General Secretary Dimitris Koutsoubas might visit his hometown Lamia, in central Greece.
