27 Airlines Interested in Direct Flights to Thessaloniki

thessaloniki airportTwenty-seven airlines have expressed interest in scheduling direct flights to the “Macedonia” airport in Thessaloniki, during the largest European conference concerning air routes development that was held recently in Marseille.
According to representatives of the Region of Central Macedonia which took part in the event, the messages are very positive and according to initial estimates, Thessaloniki’s airport is expected to surpass its international passenger traffic record this year.
After representatives of the Region and Marketing Greece came in contact with representatives of airlines, it was decided that many airlines will schedule more frequent flights to and from Macedonia airport.
During the summer season, flights will increase by 23% compared to the same period of 2013. Meanwhile, airline executives reported the development of international flights over the last three years in the airport of Thessaloniki, as well as an increase in tourist arrivals, stressing their intention to explore more prospects by adding new routes, and following the season schedule throughout the year.
For the summer season of 2014, flights will arrive in Thessaloniki from London, Moscow, Dusseldorf, Munich, Stuttgart, Istanbul, Belgrade, Paphos and Larnaca.
Moreover, domestic flights from and to Athens, Heraklion, Chania, Rhodes, Lemnos and Mytilene will be increasing their weekly schedule.
