Greek Language Learning of Medium Difficulty to English Speakers

language
Greek Language LearningAccording to a survey conducted by the Foreign Language Learning Service Voxy, learning Greek is considered to be of medium difficulty for native English speakers, who would need on average 44 learning hours to achieve language proficiency.
Other languages with significant differences from English, such as Hindi, Thai, Russian, Polish, Vietnamese, Serbian, Hebrew, Finnish and Turkish are also considered to be of medium difficulty.
Spanish, French, Dutch, Romanian and Italian are easier and demand 23 to 24 weeks to be learnt.
On the other hand, Japanese, Arabic, Chinese and Korean are characterised as “ difficult languages”, as one would need at least 88 weeks to acquire speaking and reading proficiency.
The infographic released by Voxy also refers to factors that make a language harder to learn, including complexity, relativity to one’s mother tongue and available learning resources.
