Golden Dawn Leader's Wife Under House Arrest

Lawmaker Eleni Zaroulia, wife of Greece ‘s jailed far-right leader, has been placed under temporary house arrest until judges decide whether to detain her pending trial for allegedly running a criminal organization.
Judges disagreed Wednesday whether Eleni Zaroulia, who denies the charges, should be freed or jailed. A judicial council will rule on the matter within five days.
Zaroulia’s husband, Nikos Michaloliakos, leads the Nazi-inspired Golden Dawn party — once marginal but now Greece’s third most popular. All 18 Golden Dawn lawmakers elected in 2012 have been charged with running a criminal organization.
Michaloliakos and six others are in pre-trial detention. The crackdown followed the fatal stabbing of a left-wing musician, allegedly by a party supporter. Golden Dawn denies any link with the murder.
No trial date has been set.
