The weekend of Saturday July 5 and Sunday July 6 2014, the first Greek Manga Festival took place in Athens. During the festival there was a manga exhibition, a comic shop based on the traditional manga Japanese style comics. Added to that many anime movies were shown, together with food shown in the movies.
New artists from all over Greece participated in Manga Festival this year. Artists from Pyrgos Ilias, in the Peloponnese, Katerini in northern Greece, as well as artists from Athens, made this festival a success. The festival hosted MangaTelles, the creators of the first ever Greek manga comic ‘Thessaloniki through Time’.
The judging committee awarded the best art work, the best costume at the Festival’s cosplay party. The prizes were gifts by the sponsors of the festival. One of the prizes was a scholarship for Multispace Artville, for whoever wishes to learn more on animated comic art.
