Supermoon on Saturday

Greek August Full Moon
A very bright full moon will appear in the sky on Saturday night. The phenomenon will be repeated on August 10 with the biggest and brightest full moon of the year as the moon will be at the closest distance from the earth. The August full moon is celebrated in Greece. A third bright full moon will appear in the night sky on September 9.
The full moons differentiate in size and brightness because the orbit of our satellite around our planet is elliptical. The moon will reach its perigee, approximately (50,000 km closer to earth) than its apogee (the longest distance from earth), on August 10.
Last year, the ‘super full moon’ made earth’s satellite appearing 30 percent bigger and 14 percent brighter.
