Gang Steals Fuel from Air Force to Sell It to Gas Stations

gas stationThe Internal Affairs Directorate of the Greek Police arrested three men who were stealing large quantities of liquid fuel from a duct of the Greek Air Force and then selling it to local gas stations.
The Air Force cooperated closely with Greek police and provided valuable information that led to the arrest of the three perpetrators.
The gang consisted of a 56-year-old Greek man who was working as a fuel distributor and two 32-year-old men of Pakistani origin who were working for him.
After a thorough investigation, police announced that during the last six months the perpetrators were using special equipment to steal large quantities of aviation fuel (Jet Propellant 8) intended for use by the Air Force.
The three men after stealing the fuel they were transporting it by a tank truck owned by the Greek man and they were storing it to gas stations in Elefsina, Aspropyrgos and Nea Peramos, also owned by the Greek man. After being adulterated, the fuel was sold to other gas stations all over Greece. The illegal fuel trafficking generated big profits for the three men and major damage to the Greek state.
The three men are accused of grand theft, illegal fuel trafficking, forgery and use of forged documents.
