Wildfire in Kissamos, Crete, Under Partial Control

fireA wildfire that broke out on Saturday in Kissamos, Crete, was set under partial control on Sunday.

According to first estimations, the fire has burned 300 hectares of olive trees and brushland, and two old and abandoned farmhouses.

Greek firemen remain on high alert to prevent rekindling, given that strong winds are still blowing in the area.

“Livadia” settlement was evacuated for precautionary reasons.
