Archbishop of America Demetrios Visits Cyprus

1234
Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos met today with Archbishop of America Demetrios, who arrived in Cyprus yesterday on an official visit.
Archbishop Demetrios arrived on the island after an invitation extended by Cypriot President Nikos Anastasiades.
In statements made following the meeting, the two leaders said that the meeting followed the official protocol of visits.
“We discussed many different issues, from national issues, cultural issues and issues related to the Church,” said Archbishop Chrysostomos.
“We had the opportunity to exchange views in several issues. We have faith in Christianity and we hope that our faith will help us. We are delighted to be in Cyprus,” added Archbishop Demetrios.
Archbishop Demetrios is accompanied by the head of the Metropolitan Church of Detroit, Nikolaos (one of eight heads of the Church in America), as well as Bishop Zilon Sevastianos, the first Cypriot Bishop in America and the head-secretary of the Holy Synod of America.
Tomorrow, the Archbishop will host an official dinner in honor of the Archbishop of America.
