More Albanian Criminals Captured After Gunman Arrest

albanian
As the Albanian gunman who injured 15 people last Saturday was transferred to jail today, Greek police have arrested several Albanian criminals possessing guns. Authorities are investigating if the men are connected.
According to Greek police, the 31-year-old Albert Bako is the main gunman in a seven-member gang who have an Albanian named “Claudian” as leader. Another Albanian named “Oldi” and a Polish man are main members. Claudian was captured by police and at the same time another Albanian was arrested in Sepolia in Athens: a man by the nickname of “Mezzi” who is a hired killer.
Claudian and Mezzi were wanted for a long time, police says. In Claudian’s house authorities found two handguns and bullets that were sent for ballistics analysis. Police are trying to figure out if Claudian and Mezzi are connected.
According to police, Mezzi is suspected of being contracted to murder a high-ranking police officer for a 200,000 euro fee. The same man is suspected of being involved in the murder of a Greek man who allegedly is one of the two killers who murdered two Golden Dawn members in Neo Iraklio in November 2013.
Police say that Bako is a psychotic individual who has the profile of a serial killer. He is also known as “Tamtako” and “Maikel” and analysts presume that his reckless behavior means that he wanted to climb the gang hierarchy.
Bako was convicted and incarcerated for the first time in 2009 on charges of theft and illegal entry in Greece. After serving in several prisons, he was released from the Domokos prison on August 5, 2014.
