SYRIZA Leads Steadily in Polls, Samaras Still More Trusted PM

empty-pollsLeftist opposition party SYRIZA leads steadily in opinion polls by 5 percent. However, Prime Minister Antonis Samaras leads by 3 percentage points as most suitable for the chair.
The survey was conducted by Pulse for Action 24 television channel and shows SYRIZA at 29 percent and New Democracy at 24 percent. PASOK gets 7 percent, Golden Dawn 6.5 percent, To Potami (The River) 6.5 percent, the Greek Communist Party (KKE) 6 percent, Independent Greeks (ANEL) 4 percent, Democratic Left 1 percent, other parties received 5.5 percent, while 10.5 percent of participants said they are undecided.
However, 51 percent of participants said they don’t want snap elections, while 41 percent are in favor.
To the question “Who is more suitable for Prime Minister,” 32 percent prefer Antonis Samaras and 29 percent are in favor of SYRIZA chief Alexis Tsipras. However, 63 percent believe that SYRIZA will win the elections, while only 24 percent believe that New Democracy will be first party.
To the question “Which government can get Greece out of the memorandum without bad consequences,” there was a tie between the current New Democracy-PASOK coalition and a SYRIZA government at 24 percent, while 28 percent say that neither government can achieve that.
