5.0-Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Crete

CreteA 5.0-magnitude earthquake has hit the island of Crete, Greece, on Wednesday late afternoon, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The epicenter was 80km south of Crete.
Earthquakes have historically caused widespread damage across central and southern Greece, Cyprus, Sicily and other neighboring regions. In January 2014, a series of strong earthquakes on the island of Kefalonia damaged hundreds of homes and injured more than a dozen people.
