Eurostat: Greek Unemployment Remains Stable at 25.8% in November

unemployment_GreeceThe rate of unemployment in Greece was estimated to be 25.8% in November 2014, remaining unchanged since October 2014, according to the latest figures of the European statistics authority Eurostat.
Specifically, there were 1.23 million unemployed in Greece, with unemployment affecting 23% of men and 29.3% of women. Youth unemployment remained stable at 50.6%.
In January 2014, the rate of unemployment in the Eurozone dropped to 11.2% (from 11.3% in December 2014), which is the lowest rate since April 2012. In the EU the rate also dropped from 9.9% in December 2014 to 9.8% in January 2015.
In total there were 23.8 million unemployed in the EU, of whom 18.06 million live in Eurozone countries. Greece continues to top the list of unemployment, followed by Spain (23.4%) and Cyprus (16.1%), while Germany (4.7%) and Austria (4.8%) have the lowest rates.
