The Largest Underwater Greek Flag [Video]

greek-flagThe Samos Divers Association celebrated Greek Independence Day on March 25 in their own unique way this year.
Taking advantage of the good weather conditions, the association decided to “raise” the largest Greek flag underwater. The crystal clear waters of Agia Paraskevi in Samos were filled with the Greek flag that stretched for 70 square meters, the largest ever spread beneath the sea surface.
It took meticulous planning and precise synchronization of movements from the part of the divers as well as their helpers ashore in order to achieve the task. In total, 10 experienced divers participated in this unique event to commemorate the Greek Independence of 1821.
