Agreement on New Natural Gas Pipeline to Be Signed Soon

natural-gas-pipelineThe initial agreement for the construction of the new natural gas pipeline that will start from the Greek-Turkish border and will reach central Europe via Greece – a project with knock-on effects for the Greek economy – is expected to be signed within the next few days.
According to Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy Minister Panagiotis Lafazanis (who is visiting Riga, Latvia, on Wednesday and Thursday to participate in the informal meeting of EU Energy Ministers), the agreement could be signed as early as next week.
The construction of the pipeline’s Greek section between the Greek-Turkish border and the border with FYROM entails a 2-billion-euro investment that will create 2,000 jobs.
