Thousands of Runners Participate in 4th Athens Half-Marathon

halfmarathonNo incidents occurred during the 4th Athens Half-Marathon which was attended by more than 15,000 people of every age. In total 4,000 runners participated in the 21-kilometer run which started on Sunday, May 3 at 8 am.
Furthermore, at least 200 Special Olympics athletes participated in 3-kilometer sun, while this was the first year that a blind athlete took place in the half-marathon, along with her guide.
The half-marathon was dedicated to the fight against breast cancer and it gave thousands of people the opportunity to run and enjoy a very successful sports event.
Deputy Sports Minister Stavros Kontonis, as well as Deputy Tourism Minister, Elena Kountoura and SEGAS President Kostas Panagopoulos attended the event and presented the athletes with their awards.
