Cyprus in Eurovision Song Contest Finals [VIDEO]

john-karayiannisCypriot singer John Karayiannis competed in the Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals with “One Thing I Should Have Done” and passed to Saturday’s finals along with Lithuania, Montenegro, Norway, Israel, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Sweden, Slovenia and Poland.
A total of 17 countries participated in the second semi-finals that took place in Vienna, Austria, in order to qualify for the 60th Eurovision finals. Cyprus returned to the song contest after being absent for a year.
Greece competed in the first semi-finals, when Maria Elena Kyriakou performed “One Last Breath” and was able to win a ticket for the big night, to be held on Saturday, May 23.
Karayiannis is 20 years old and comes from Limassol. He has been playing music for many years, while he had his first vocal lesson at the age of 8. He has participated and won first prizes at a number of local talent shows across Cyprus. In September, he plans to travel to London to resume his music studies.
