Hellenic Republic President Prokopis Pavlopoulos expressed the opinion that Greece’s future lies in Europe during his meeting with a group of Greek-American students at the Presidential Palace in Athens on Wednesday.
“Greece is in Europe and will remain in Europe,” Pavlopoulos stressed during his statement addressed to the students delivering simultaneously a message to the United States.
Prokopis Pavlopoulos urged the U.S. to support Greece so that it may remain on a European path. “We urge the United States to assist Greece this critical moment in order to ensure its future in Europe,” he said.
The Greek President also claimed that a Europe without Greece and a Greece without Europe is “unimaginable,” by saying: “It is something that concerns not only the future of Greece but Europe’s future as well. Because a Europe without Greece and a Greece without Europe is simply impossible.”
